During a choppy trade on Wednesday, the benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, pared early hour gains and ended slightly below the flatline.
The market cap-weighted TEDPIX lost 731 points or 0.05% to end trading at 1,541,979.
TSE’s equal-weighted index was up 0.3%, better reflecting the performance of small caps.
About 6.59 billion shares valued at 39.28 trillion rials ($135.47 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Trading at TSE and the junior equities exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Zar Spring Manufacturing Company was the biggest winner, as its shares went up 6% to 3,516 rials per share.
Rena Industrial Group Investment Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 5.5% to 5,150 rials per share.
Nouri Petrochemical Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Pardis Petrochemical Company, Esfahan Oil Refining Company and Tehran Oil Refining Company.
Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by MAPNA Group, Bank Mellat and Iran Aluminum Company.

Iran Fara Bourse’s main index, IFX, lost 184.52 points or 0.87% to close Wednesday trade at 21,219.
About 3.24 billion shares and securities valued at 194.93 trillion rials ($672.19 million) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.
Zagros Petrochemical Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Dana Pharmaceutical Company and Iranian Reinsurance Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Damavand Power Generation Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company, Gilan Electric Power Development Company and Bahman Diesel Company.
