    Small Caps Rebound

    Tehran’s share market closed the week Wednesday higher thanks to noticeable demand for stocks of small companies. 

    Reflecting the performance of small caps, the equal-weighted index of Tehran Stock Exchange gained close to 1.3%. 

    The TSE’s benchmark, the market cap-weighted TEDPIX, gained 8,798.97 points or 0.57% to end trade at 1,564,487. 

    After six straight sessions of capital outflow, the market saw inflow of money on Wednesday with net capital inflow by retail investors reaching 1.34 trillion rials ($4.4 million). 

    Retail trade rose 12% on the session before to stand at 59.39 trillion rials ($197m). 

    About 8.48 billion shares valued at 52.37 trillion rials ($187m) changed hands at TSE for the day.

    Trading at TSE and junior equities exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

    Niroo Investment Company was the main winner as its shares went up 6% to 3,092 rials per share.

    Behshahr Industrial Development Cleanser Industry Management Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies declining 4.49% to 22,120 rials per share.

    Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Khouzestan Steel Company and Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company.

    Esfahan Oil Refining Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by MAPNA Group, Telecommunication Company of Iran and Tabriz Oil Refining Company.

     

    IFX Adds 0.8%

    Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 168.05 points or 0.79% to close Wednesday at 21,488.

    About 6.32 billion shares and securities valued at 77.92 trillion rials ($278m) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.

    Pouya Zarkan Agh Darreh Company, Gohar Tarabar Sirjan Transportation Company, Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex and Hormozgan Steel Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Minoo Industrial Group Company, Daana Pharmaceutical Company and Omid Taban Hoor Energy Management Company.
