    TEDPIX Sheds 5,000 Points

    Tehran stocks opened trading week Saturday in uneven territory as most shares pared losses in the beginning of the session and ended in positive zone.

    The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, closed session 5,007.59 points lower, losing 0.34% for the day to end trade at 1,458,772. It had shed more than 10,000 in the early hours of trade.  

    Unlike the market cap-weighted TEDPIX, the TSE’s equal-weighted index closed in positive territory gaining 0.2% as small caps outperformed. 

    Retail trade dropped 22% compared with the session before to reach 52.66 trillion rials ($195 million).  

    A total of 9.55 billion shares valued at 53.02 trillion rials ($196m) changed hands at the TSE on Saturday.

    Trading at TSE and the junior exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

    Kourosh Food Industry Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.98% to 37,330 rials per share.

    Barez Industrial Group Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.84% to 14,950 rials per share.

    Iran Khodro Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Mellat Bank and Tehran Oil Refining Company.

    Tabriz Oil Refining Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Parsian Bank, Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company and Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Company.

     

    IFX Improves 

    Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 37.23 points or 0.19 % to close Saturday trade at 19,887.

    About 3.36 billion shares and securities worth 35.18 trillion rials ($130m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

    Damavand Power Generation Company, Hormozgan Steel Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company and Zagros Petrochemical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Arya Sasol Polymer Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Lavan Oil Refining Company, Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company and Bahman Diesel Company.
