    TEDPIX Slips 0.6%

    Tehran stocks closed trading session lower on Sunday as shares in majority of commodity and export companies tumbled following steep decline in currency prices. 

    The market cap-weighted benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost 7,789 points or 0.61% for the day to end trading at 1,274,401.

    The TSE-30 Index was down close to 0.8% while the TSE’s equal -weighted index dropped slightly by 0.2%. The former index tracks top companies in terms of market cap and the latter gives the same weight to all stocks. 

    About 5.31 billion shares valued at 32.34 trillion rials ($119.78 million) changed hands at TSE on Sunday

    Amin Pharmaceutical Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.86% to 2,136 rials per share.

    Noosh Mazandaran Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.96% to 7,480 rials per share.

    Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Ghadir Investment Company, Nouri Petrochemical Company and Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company.

    Mellat Bank gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Tejarat Bank, Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Company and Eghtesad Novin Bank.

     

    IFX Down 0.2%

    Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 37.84 points or 0.22% to close Sunday trade at 17,474.

    About 2.81 billion shares and securities valued at 34.62 trillion rials ($128.24 million) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

    Tajali Mines and Metals Development Company had the highest number of traded shares as 352.97 million of its shares worth 525.77 billion rials ($1.94 million) were traded.

    Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Hormozgan Steel Company, Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company and Zagros Petrochemical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Pouya Zarkan Agh Darreh Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group Company, Minoo Industrial Group Company and Negin Software Systems Development Company.
