TEDPIX Notches Higher

Share prices in Tehran extended a winning streak into the fifth session on Tuesday pushing up the main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, above the psychological 1.3 million points. 

TEDPIX closed 6,678.94 points higher, gaining 0.52% to reach  1,301,297.45. The benchmark has gained nearly 8% in five days. 

Compared with previous rallies, more tickers closed in the red on Tuesday as investors tried to save gains. Prices of 156 tickers dropped while 316 others moved into the green, representing 63% of the total. 

Retail trade dropped close to 3% to 41.7 trillion rials ($148 million), accounting for 67% of the total. Net capital outflow by retail investors stood at 3.47 trillion rials ($12m), up 63% compared on Monday.   

About 8.09 billion shares valued at 47.43 trillion rials ($169.4 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Saipa Investment Group Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 12.98% to 2,828 rials per share.

Ilam Cement Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 7.33% to 6,070 rials per share.

Esfahan Oil Refining Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company, Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company and Parsian Oil and Gas Development Group Company.

Mellat Bank gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Iran Khodro Company, Tejarat Bank and Mines and Metals Development Investment Company.

 

IFX Up 0.4%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 66.29 points or 0.38% to close Tuesday trade at 17,682. About 3.47 billion shares and securities valued at 28.45 trillion rials ($101.6m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

Melal Credit Institution, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Tabas Parvardeh Coal Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Pasargad Insurance Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Hormozgan Steel Company, Iranian Reinsurance Company and Tajali Mines and Metals Development Company.
