Leaving behind an unrelenting selloff session on Sunday, the pressure on Tehran’s stock market eased Monday as demand rose in the late hours of trade.
The benchmark of Tehran Stock, TEDPIX, pared big losses in the early hours of the session but lost 4,178.9 points or 0.3% to end trade at 1,332,642.
Retail trade dropped 5% compared with the previous session to reach 28.45 trillion rials ($105 million).
Despite a noticeable increase in demand in the closing hours, capital outflow by retail investors continued for the 13th session in a row reaching 1.46 trillion rials ($5 million) on Monday
About 5.47 billion shares valued at 32.39 trillion rials ($115.7m) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Trading at TSE and junior exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Tuka Transportation Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.94% to 12,960 rials per share. Leasing Iran Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.99% to 1,620 rials per share.
Pars Petrochemical Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company and Civil Pension Fund Investment Company.
Iran Khodro Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Mellat Bank, Bank Saderat Iran and Saipa Automaker Company.
IFX Dips 0.55%
Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 99.05 points or 0.55% to close Monday trade at 18,018. About 3.63 billion shares and securities valued at 1,456.34 trillion rials ($5.2 billion) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group Company had the highest number of traded shares as 49.96 million of its shares worth 455.71 billion rials ($1.6m) were traded.
Zagros Petrochemical Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Minoo Industrial Group Company and Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Iran Fara Bourse gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Negin Software Systems Development Company, Sanati Doodeh Fam Company and Sarcheshmeh Copper Investment Company.
