Tehran stocks closed Monday in negative territory as sell-side pressure continued. The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, shed 4,164.21 points or 0.3% to close trade at 1,363,840.
TSE’s equal-weighted index dipped 0.22% and TSE-30 Index lost 0.36%. The former index gives the same weight to all shares and the latter tracks the performance of top 30 companies in terms of market cap.
After reaching a 6-month low a session earlier, retail trade increased slightly on Monday, reaching 35.1 trillion rials ($125 million), up 3% on the previous session. Trade by retail investors accounted for 9% of the total stock trade.
Net capital outflow by retail investors continued for the third straight session, amounting to 10.2 trillion rials ($36m).
About 3.99 billion shares worth 32.16 trillion rials ($114m) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Behnoush Iran Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5% to 64,930 rials per share. Rouz Darou Pharmaceuticals Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.81% to 24,730 rials per share.
Chadormalu Mining And Industrial Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Mobarakeh Steel Company and Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company.
Fanavaran Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Tehran Oil Refining Company, Ghadir Investment Company and Barakat Pharmaceuticals Group Company.
IFB Flat
Iran Fara Bourse closed slightly above the flatline. The IFB’s main index, IFX, gained 9.93 points or 0.05% to close Monday trade at 19,503.7.
About 2.57 billion securities valued at 681.27 trillion rials ($2.43 billion) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Marun Petrochemical Company, Minoo Industrial Group Company, Iran Fara Bourse and Mehr Ayandegan Financial Development Group Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Pasargad Insurance Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Tabas Parvardeh Coal Company, Damavand Power Generation Company and Iranian Reinsurance Company.
