Tehran stocks extended losses on Monday with the benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, losing 1%.
The market cap-weighted TEDPIX shed 14,709 points to plunge deeper below the 1.5 million level, finishing trade at 1,475,274.
Sell-side pressure on small caps was again high dragging down the TSE’s equal-weighted index 1.35%.
About 10.95 billion shares valued at 75.71 trillion rials ($280.4 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Iran Mercantile Exchange was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.98% to 43,230 rials per share.
Damavand Mining Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 5% to 182,620 rials per share.
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, National Iranian Copper Industries Company and Telecommunication Company of Iran.
Opal Kani Pars Mining and Processing Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Iran Mercantile Exchange, Sepahan Oil Company and Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company.
IFX Down 1.2
Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX lost 266.79 points or 1.19% to close Monday trade at 22,130.28.
About 10.24 billion shares and securities valued at 322.55 trillion rials ($1.2 billion) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex had the highest number of traded shares as 3.99 billion of its shares worth 21.99 trillion rials ($81.4m) were traded.
Alborz Pharmaceutical Raw Materials Production Company was the top IFB winner as its ticker rose 10.43% to reach 15,410 rials.
Pasargad Insurance Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company and Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Iran Fara Bourse gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Esfahan Steel Company, Tejaratno Insurance Company and Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex.
