Iran's CB and Judiciary Sign MoU to Share Information, Fight Crime

The judiciary and Central Bank of Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday to facilitate information exchange and help detect and prevent fraud and financial crime.
As per the MoU, both sides are committed to set up interactive platforms and IT systems for registering and sharing information, according to a CBI press release.
Parties will apparently use the information to facilitate online inquiries, ease judicial processes for curbing banking and financial crime and protect bank customers and users of payment services against potential criminals.
The MoU seeks to minimize paperwork and written correspondence and promote online interaction between the banking network and courts. Online communication will also help ensure the veracity of information.
A committee comprising representatives from the two sides will be set up to ensure the timely and efficient implementation of the MoU.
The document is valid for three years and its provisions apply to all organizations affiliated to the judiciary, banks, credit institutions and payment companies.
