Stock trade was choppy Sunday starting with sell-off in the early hours before demand picked up in the middle of trade and closing under higher sell-side pressure at the close of the session.
The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, dropped slightly below the flatline, paring gains and losing 2,354.19 points or 0.15% to close trade at 1,573,407.61.
After robust gains for consecutive sessions, the TSE’s equal-weighted index paused on Sunday and closed flat.
With investors selling shares to save earlier gains, the net capital outflow reached 11.12 trillion rials ($41 million).
About 16.05 billion shares valued at 142.12 trillion rials ($507.6 m) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Khourasan Sabet Sugar Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 11.66% to 5,125 rials per share. Shahdiran Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.46% to 17,780 rials per share.
Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Mellat Bank and Nouri Petrochemical Company.
Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, Khouzestan Steel Company and National Iranian Copper Industries Company.
IFX Up 0.3%
Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 75.39 points or 0.33% to close Sunday trade at 22,803. About 7.1 billion shares and securities valued at 120.33 trillion rials ($429.7m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares as 1.9 billion of its shares worth 2.46 trillion rials ($8.8m) were traded.
Zagros Petrochemical Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company and Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Pasargad Insurance Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Hormozgan Steel Company, Esfahan Steel Company and Arfa Iron and Steel Company.
