After eking out a robust gain in the earlier session, the benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange paused on Wednesday and closed slightly above the flatline.
The market cap-weighted TEDPIX closed 831.49 points higher, rising 0.06% to end at 1,282,018. The benchmark had gained 2.2% on Tuesday.
Price rise in many penny stocks pushed up the TSE’s equal-weighted index by 0.25%. About 6.92 billion shares valued at 54.8 trillion rials ($219.23 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Nirou Trans Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 9.95% to 2,441 rials per share. Piazar Agro Industrial Company incurred the biggest loss and went down 31.15% to 36,110 rials per share.
Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Khouzestan Steel Company, Tehran Oil Refining Company and Social Security Investment Company.
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Ghadir Investment Company, MAPNA Group Company and National Iranian Copper Industries Company.

IFX Up 0.15%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 26.74 points or 0.15% to close Wednesday trade at 18,367.91. About 2.44 billion shares and securities valued at 155.82 trillion rials ($623.3m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Esfahan Steel Company, Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company, Hormozgan Steel Company and Saba Tamin Investment Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Minoo Industrial Group Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Marun Petrochemical Company, Shiraz Oil Refining Company and Omid Taban Hour Energy Management Company.
