Despite increase in demand in the late hours of trade, the benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange failed to close trading week Wednesday in positive territory.
TEDPIX, the TSE’s main gauge, was down 2,354 points losing 0.21% to close at 1,471,675. The TSE’s equal-weighted index extended a losing streak into the fifth session and dropped 0.75%.
About 22.3 billion shares valued at 58.16 trillion rials ($242.33 million) changed hands at TSE on Wednesday. Trading at TSE and junior equity exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Nouri Petrochemical Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5% to 70,660 rials per share.
