Tehran stocks opened trade on Tuesday in upbeat mode before paring gains later amid rising sell side pressure in most stock categories.
The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained about 8,000 points in early hours of trade but lost more than half the gains and closed 3,362.84 points or 0.3% higher. The gains put TEDPIX at 1,160,568.
Sell side pressure was higher on small cap stocks, causing the TSE’s equal-weighted index to drop slightly below the flatline.
About 8.24 billion shares valued at 53.36 trillion rials ($222.34 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Pars National Agro-Industry and Animal Husbandry Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5% to 121,630 rials per share.
Sa’adi Tile Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 33.22% to 13,930 rials per share.
Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Khouzestan Steel Company and Nouri Petrochemical Company.
Mellat Bank gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Iran Khodro Company, MAPNA Group Company and Tejarat Bank.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 59.98 points or 0.34% to close Tuesday trade at 17,660.72.
About 2.06 billion securities valued at 19.01 trillion rials ($79.22 million) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Kerman Province Development Investment Company had the highest number of traded shares as 574.28 million of its shares worth 634.55 billion rials ($2.64 million) were traded.
Minoo Industrial Group Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Damavand Power Generation Company and Esfahan Steel Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Zagros Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Mehr Ayandegan Financial Development Group Company, Gilan Electric Power Development Company and Tabas Parvardeh Coal Company.
