Tehran’s share market closed trading week higher on Wednesday thanks to boosted demand for large caps and investor aversion to penny stocks.
The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 5,219.42 points or 0.43% to close at 1,207,850. The TSE equal-weighted index closed slightly below the flatline at 0.04%. The index gives a better picture on the performance of small caps.
About 6.45 billion shares valued at 44.04 trillion rials ($183.52 million) changed hands at TSE for the day. Bahman Group Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5.93% to 1,430 rials per share.
