Iran Aseman Airline, the country's third largest carrier by active fleet size, affiliated to the Civil Servants Pension Organization, is planning initial public offering, the company's CEO said.
"We are sorting out requirements for entering the stock market, namely enhancing transparency of the company's present and future plans plus our conditions compared with the other airliners," Mehdi Qaderi was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency on Sunday.
"We can grow financially by offering shares in the stock market.”
The company is planning to purchase five Boeing 737s next year and optimize expenses, he said without elaboration.
Aseman had signed a contract with the US aircraft company in 2017 for buying 30 Boeing B737Max jetliners worth $3 billion. However, the deal was cancelled following the US administration's unilateral withdrawal from the landmark Iran nuclear deal in 2018.
The airline would be the first Iranian company to offer shares in the bourse. Iran Air (the national carrier), Kish Airlines, Iran Airtour and Mahan Airlines had earlier announced plans for going public but to no avail.
