More than 2 million tons of goods worth 243 trillion rials ($972 million) were traded at the Iran Mercantile Exchange in the month to Dec.13. 
Compared to the preceding month, the value increased 31% rising from 185.5 trillion rials ($740m). In volume terms, deals increased 26.1% compared to last month when it was 1.6 million tons. 
Deals included oil products and petrochemicals weighing more than 1 million tons valued at 110 trillion rials ($440m). This was up 15.6% in value and 16.7% rise in volume compared to the earlier month, the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported. 
In the industries category, 938,000 tons of goods worth 132 trillion rials ($528m) were handled indicating a sharp increase of 38.1% in volume and 46.9% in value compared to the month before.
IME trade also improved in the mineral sector where goods worth 234 billion rials weighing 3,600 tons were sold. In the preceding month, the share of mineral products at the IME was zero. 
IME is a commodities exchange based in Tehran founded in 2006 to deal with agricultural, industrial and petrochemical products in the spot and futures markets.
