TEDPIX Down 7,686 Points

Tehran’s stock market closed in negative territory on Sunday after rallying for seven consecutive sessions. The heavy early sell-side pressure eased in the closing hours.

The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost 7,686.76 points, or 0.56%, on Sunday to end trading at 1,358,847.83.

Of the total active ticker symbols, 286 tickers closed in the red and 176 tickers saw growth. 

Trade value declined 10% to reach 210.5 trillion rials ($807 million) with retail traders contributing to 170 trillion rials ($650m) of trade, according to eghtesadnews. 

Refineries, sugar companies and tier makers were the top gainers while shares in some petrochemical companies, base metal, auto and telecom companies declined.    

About 17.6 billion shares valued at 149.5 trillion rials ($575.02m) changed hands at TSE for the day. Margarine Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 9.76% to 28,890 rials per share.

IRCA Part Sanat Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and fell 8.01% to 29,300 rials per share.

Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, Social Security Investment Company and Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company.

National Iranian Copper Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company, Esfahan Oil Refining Company and Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 161.41 points or 0.97% to close Sunday trade at 16,479.96.

About 2.38 billion securities valued at 65.52 trillion rials ($252.02m) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.

Esfahan Steel Company had the highest number of traded shares as 210.22 million of its shares worth 1 trillion rials ($3.86 million) were traded.

Hormozgan Steel Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company, Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company and Esfahan Steel Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Taliseh Nemooneh Dairy Farm Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Iran Fara Bourse.
