More than 599.9 billion shares worth 2,027 trillion rials ($18.1 billion) were traded in 51.42 million deals in the Tehran Stock Exchange during 140 trading sessions in the first seven months of the current fiscal year (started in March).
The main index of TSE TEDPIX soared 127,149 points, or 71%, during this period to reach 305,808, IBENA reported.  
In the debt market, where participatory bonds, certificates of deposit and Islamic sukuk securities are traded, 53.7 million securities worth 51.93 trillion rials ($457.5 million) changed hands in almost 43,685 deals. 
A total of 134.640 million futures contracts valued at 974 billion rials ($8.6 million) were traded in the derivative market during the period.
The contracts traded in derivative market changed hands in more than 56,610 deals.
About 120.33 trillion rials ($1.07 billion) worth of exchange-traded funds were traded in 381,659 deals, during the 7-month period.
The number of traded ETF units stood at 11.34 billion.
ETF is a basket of securities traded on an exchange market similar to stocks. A basket of shares represents an ETF unit.
At present, there are 39 ETFs operating in the capital market.
