Iranian car manufacturer SAIPA has signed a research and development agreement with the University of Tehran to use academic potentials for boosting the key sector.
SAIPA's deputy for human resource development, Amir Cheragh-Ali, signed the agreement with Behzad Rostami, research deputy of the University of Tehran’s Technical Department, during a meeting on Monday, Saipanews.com reported.
“The agreement is aimed at boosting auto production by implementing joint research projects and boosting students’ technical knowledge,” he said.
Cheragh-Ali hoped that the move will help the industry adopt modern solutions for increasing auto production.
Rostami said the collaboration will also provide university students with an opportunity to find solutions for different issues in the automotive fields.
"Students and researchers will be able to conduct field studies at SAIPA's production lines," Rostami said.
Earlier this week, Iran Khodro Powertrain Company (IPCO), affiliated to the country’s other major automaker, Iran Khodro, signed a similar agreement with Islamic Azad University.
IPCO is a local research and development company that designs high-performing, cost-efficient and eco-friendly CNG-hybrid engines by using cutting edge technologies for passenger vehicles.
Based on the agreement, the university has agreed to share its laboratories and facilities with IPCO, helping the company use the latest knowledge-based solutions in designing car engines.
