Working parents who mostly rely on private transport services for getting their children to and from school are now able to monitor the vehicles via a newly launched online system.
Referring to the Tehran Taxi Organization’s website, taxi.tehran.ir, by entering the school transport vehicle’s number plate, parents can find data about the driver, his work permit and the transport company contracting the driver, Mizan news website reported.
Moreover, school transport companies are required to install special labels and QR codes on their vehicles. Parents can scan the QR codes with their smartphones to get information about the driver and his working permit.
If any incongruity in the information is seen, parents can report it to the TTO through the website for investigation.
To improve the safety of students, in addition to the online system, TTO and the Traffic Police inspect the school transport services on a regular basis.
