A new motocross circuit was launched on Wednesday near the city of Arak, Markazi Province.

Professional cyclists and amateurs will be provided with 250cc motorcycles by managers of the sports facility to practice the sport, Mehr News Agency reported. Motocross is a form of off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed dirt roads.

The circuit which covers 2.5 hectares will host training sessions from the beginner to advance levels. According to the local press, the facility is compatible with global standards making it suitable to host motorcycling races.

A separate area near the main circuit is set to be paved with asphalt, preparing suitable space for those interested in stunt riding.

Although the circuit is yet to be fully equipped, organizers say it has been prepared with the highest security and amenities for those practicing motocross.

The circuit is jointly built by the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the provincial motorcycling association.

Negotiations are underway to expand the province's sports facilities by building a car racing track near the motocross circuit.
