The 14th International Auto Exhibition started in the southern city of Shiraz, the commercial heart of Fars Province, on Tuesday with 250 companies attending, IRNA reported. Alongside local auto manufacturers, foreign firms from the Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, Japan, China and France were also present. "Local auto companies will present their latest models. The exhibition provides a great opportunity for local carmakers and auto part manufacturers to exchange ideas and work experience with their foreign counterparts," the secretary of the event, Abdolnaser Eskandari, said at the opening ceremony. "They will also be able to promote their newest achievements," he noted. The auto industry is Iran's second largest revenue maker after oil. The four-day exhibition ends on Friday, visiting hours are from 5 to 10 p.m.
