IKCO Presents New Price List

Iran Khodro (IKCO) has submitted its latest price list to the Competition Council, raising prices compared to last year, said the company's CEO on Tuesday, Tasnim news agency reported. "Manufacturing costs have increased compared to the year before," Hashem Yekehzare said, defending the hike in prices. The official did not, however, mention any clear figures. It will be for the Competition Council to analyze the costs and give the final verdict on price changes. On a different note, the CEO affirmed that IKCO has held talks with Peugeot in France, while "upholding Iran's interests." These talks are the latest between the two groups.

On Tuesday, reports said the IKCO managing director travelled to France for talks. No further information on the trip has yet been publicized. Domestic auto part manufacturing, exports, and technologies were reportedly on the agenda, Mehr news agency quoted him as saying on Tuesday. Iran and France are eager to resume auto collaboration where they left off. If the two companies clinch a deal, Peugeot will be obliged to set up research and development centers in Iran. The CEO reaffirmed his prior statement that 30 percent of the newly produced cars in Iran will be for export.
