A new report by Korean Car Blog Monday suggests the 2016 Kia Sportage will make its world premiere in September this year. Details of the cars specifications are still not clear but information suggests the next generation of the South Korean small SUV will be revealed during this year’s Frankfurt Motor during the summer. The 2016 iteration of the Sportage is expected to share many of its design cues with the KX3 model which is currently available in mainland China. If the Chinese model is anything to go by, expect the new car to have a new frontend and repositioned headlights. Spy photos of the car in the rural South Korea indicate the car has a sloping roofline, longer rear doors and a dual exhaust system. The fourth generation of the Sportage will likely get a small four-cylinder 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline unit with around 132 bhp (98 kW), as well as a more powerful 1.6 liter engine with 204 bhp (152 kW). The latter is likely to be the next version to arrive on these shores by the Q4 of the year.
