Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO) is planning to export 30,000 cars by the yearend (March 21, 2016), Ali Elmi, the company's deputy CEO said on Monday. The company planned to export 20,000 of cars last year, however it could not achieve the goal due to sanctions and forex fluctuations and problems in opening LC, Khabar Khodro, a news website focusing on the auto industry reported, citing the dputy.

IKCO has a significant share of the country's auto export market and its Samand and Soren -- the two prominent car models -- are already being exported to Iraq, Azerbaijan, Ivory Coast and Venezuel.

As he underscored, IKCO seeks to fortify its overseas car assembling sites and is determined to keep its four overseas sites running. "CKD cars are assembled in the four sites, which present technical and engineering services as well", he said.

IKCO could receive the Tunisian Standard Institute’s approval to export Runna to that country, he added.
