Car Quality Audits Tightened

The ministry of industry, mine, and trade introduced a quality audit in the car industry on Saturday, tightening the older version after seven years, ISNA reported.

Given massive changes in the industry in recent years, the ministry started working on the new version of the quality audit three years ago.

The decision has been communicated to all supervising bodies in the Iranian car industry, but it will take several weeks for the new regulations to be implented.

Once applied, the status of many cars produced in Iran will be the subject to tighter regulations which must be applied on production lines.

The new regulations focus on technical and safety standards, two issues Iranians mostly complain about when purchasing a new vehicle.
