Iran Standards and Quality Inspection Company has released a report on the quality of locally-made automobiles surveyed during the Iranian month ending June 21.
The quality watchdog is a private enterprise that works on contract with the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade, and publishes the rankings on its website.
The automobiles are divided into five price categories, with the least costing 1 billion rials ($3,770) and the most expensive priced at 10 billion rials ($37,730), according to the article.
The company considers the vehicle's manufacturing price, but the automobiles are sold at considerably higher price in the open market. The cars are then awarded one to five stars, with one signifying the lowest quality.
Domestically produced automobiles have improved slightly in recent rounds, according to the ISQI rating.
