Iran’s automotive production increased by 0.9% during the 10 months to Jan. 19, compared with the same period of last year.
According to data released by Securities and Exchange Organization on Codal.ir, Iran’s leading automakers, namely Iran Khodro (IKCO) and SAIPA produced 706,823 sedans during the period.
During the period, IKCO’s output rose to 312,457, which is 0.8% higher year-on-year when the company manufactured 309,833 passenger vehicles. 
Peugeot models had the lion’s share with 219,393 cars in the 10 months. Samand models scored IKCO’s second most production high with 44,262 units. 
In addition, IKCO manufactures commercial vehicles, such as pickups, vans, trucks and buses, but the production rates of these vehicles have not been released yet.
