The nominees for the International 3D and Advanced Imaging Society’s annual Creative Arts Awards have been announced.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the nominees in the category for best live action 3D feature are ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’, ‘Maleficent’, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’, ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ and ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.

In the category for best animated 3D feature, the nominees are ‘Big Hero 6’, ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’, ‘Mr. Peabody & Sherman’, ‘Rio 2’, ‘The Book of Life’, ‘The Boxtrolls’, ‘The Lego Movie’, ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue’ and ‘Penguins of Madagascar’. A category for 2D-to-3D conversion includes ‘Godzilla’, and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.

In all, the society will present its Lumiere statuettes to honorees in 20 categories during the ceremony, which will be held January 28 at Warner Bros. Studios.

As previously announced, during the ceremony the society’s Harold Lloyd Award will be presented to director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, whose latest work ‘The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet’ was photographed in 3D. Also Sky, Atlantic Productions and David Attenborough will receive the Society’s Sir Charles Wheatstone Award for creative excellence in 3D storytelling.
