Visual communication expert and graphic artist Mohammad Khaza’i has spent 12 years researching the art of design in Iran from the Sassanid era (224–651) to the Qajar period (1786-1925) and is going to publish his research by the end of fall.

Khaza’i has analyzed 1,600 designs, motifs and illustrations created during the period, ILNA reported.

His book “Art of Design in Iran” contains over 1,000 pages.  It is in the page layout process and will be published by the academic publishing house Samt that specializes in human sciences.

Khaza’i says the new book will be a complementary volume to his 1989 book “Elixir of Painting,” which was about painting masterpieces created in Iran during the period from the Mongol rule (1218-1335, including the Illkhanate period) to the Safavid era (907-1135).
