The latest film made by award winning director Asghar Farhadi is set to be screened at the 25th Austin Film Festival in Texas, October 25-November 1.

According to the festival website, Farhadi’s Spanish language film “Everybody Knows” will compete in the annual event with 17 other movies.

It is about Laura, a Spanish woman living in Buenos Aires, who returns to her hometown outside Madrid with her two children to attend her sister’s wedding. However, the trip takes a strange and sudden turn with unexpected events that bring secrets into the open.

The star-studded cast includes Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz and Ricardo Darin. The film has participated in several international events including the Cannes Festival.

Other notable films competing in the Austin event include “Shoplifters” by Hirokazu Koreeda, “The Front Runner” by Jason Reitman and “The Favorite” by Yorgos Lanthimos.
