A bestselling thriller novel by American authors Robert Ludlum and Philip Shelby is available in Persian.

The book “The Cassandra Compact” has been translated by Mohammad Ghassa’ from English and published by Ketabsaraye Tandis Publication, Mehr News Agency reported.

It is the story of John Smith, a medical researcher, who is contacted by a Russian colleague Yuri Danko. The Russian gets killed in Venice afterward, but not before he passes on the vital information that someone is about to steal a deadly virus from Russia.

 Smith must prevent the virus from being stolen.

The book is on the New York Times bestseller’s list.

Robert Ludlum (1927-2001) has been acknowledged as the master of international suspense and intrigue. He has written 27 thriller and spy novels including the famous hit the Bourne trilogy books that have been adapted into movies.

The number of copies of his books in print is estimated between 300 million and 500 million and published in 33 languages.

Philip Shelby, 68, is a screenwriter and author of bestselling novels including “Days of Drums,” “Last Rites” and “The Gatekeeper”.
