Farshchian Museum is located in the middle of Sa’dabad Complex in north Tehran.
It opened in 2001 and is the exclusive premise of outstanding works by master of Persian painting and miniature Mahmoud Farshchian.
The museum has several galleries where the master’s works from early years to his most recent creations are on view.
It is known as a popular attraction for art enthusiasts who seek close encounters with works of the master. The respected painter is a modernizer in the field of miniature, having introduced an array of new techniques that have helped broaden the scale and scope of Iranian painting.
One, however, should not necessarily be an art expert to be able to enjoy his works. Due to their numerous details and minutia, visitors are prone to linger on and scrutinize the miniatures inch by inch.
Sa’dabad Complex is located north of Tajrsih Square. It is at the northern end of Sa’dabad Street with entrance from Kamal Taheri Street, next to Zafaranieh Street.
