Adaptation of a bestselling novel by Ukrainian author Andrey Kurkov is to go on stage at Charsou Hall in Tehran’s City Theater on September 2-9.
The play “Death and the Penguin,” named after Kurkov’s book with the same name, has been rewritten by dramaturge Mohammad Charmshir and directed by actor and director Payam Dehkordi, Honaronline reported.
It is about the life of Viktor, an aspiring author in a struggling post-Soviet society, living with his pet penguin. Starting with the intention of writing novels, Victor finds himself writing obituaries for a local newspaper.
