The Royal Hall of Espinas Palace Hotel in Tehran will host the first edition of Qoqnoos Music Festival, September 1-5.  The five-day festival has been organized by music producer Mohammad Hossein Tutunchian, owner of the Qoqnoos music company. Acclaimed master of traditional music and vocalist Shahram Nazeri will open the festival with a number of his well-known pieces, Tutunchian told Honaronline.  The second day of the festival will host a concert by the pop artists of Hoorosh Band. Songs already released by  the group plus new works will be presented. Mehdi Darabi is the singer and Masoud Jahani, a well-known pop music arranger and singer, is leader of the group. Chaartaar Band will take the stage on the third night to perform a selection of their fusion works. Arman Garshasbi will sing along with Farzad Fakhroddini on electric guitar, Dara Daraee on bass guitar, Hamzeh Yeganeh on keyboard and Arash Pazhand-Moqaddam and Shayan Riahi on percussion. On the following night, the stage will be taken by the popular Kamkars music group, a Kurdish family of seven brothers and a sister, who will perform a repertoire of Kurdish and Persian songs. A concert by acclaimed traditional singer Salar Aghili will conclude the event. Aghili’s repertoire will include pieces composed by musician and tar virtuoso Mahyar Alizadeh. Espinas hotel is located on Street 39, Abedi Blvd., north of Parvaz Park, Sa’adatabad neighborhood.
