Fereshteh branch of Book City Institute will host the Iran-Ukraine Cultural Week from August 28 to September 2.

The event includes unveiling of new books and a photo exhibition, Honaronline reported.

Organized jointly by Aaradman Publication, Ukraine Embassy and Book City, the cultural week will open with the launch of a bilingual poetry book “London 1939” written by author and photographer Alireza Bahrami. The Persian poems are translated into Ukrainian by Katerina Krikonyok.

The Wales-based Ukrainian translator will also unveil her Persian translation of “The Kaydash Family” written by Ivan Nechui Levitsky.

A graduate of the Department of Iranian Studies at the Kyiv National University in 2002, Krikonyok has earlier translated “Eyes of the Abyss” by Ukrainian writer Valeriy Shevchuk into Persian.

Alireza Bahrami will also display his photos in an exhibition titled “Kiev, City of Life and Revolution” from August 31.

Ukrainian Ambassador in Iran Sergei Burdylyak will hold a conference on cultural diplomacy on the final day of the event.

The venue is located at No. 1671, Shariati St., South of Sadr Bridge.
