A solo exhibition of Morad Fattahi’s calligraphy and paintings is underway at Nivaran Cultural Center.

On show are 30 works Fattahai produced using a variety of materials mostly acrylic on canvas, Tiwall reported.

Fattahi, 47, has been active in the field for 35 years during which he has held 10 exhibits in the country.

All the works presented have been created in style of Saqqakhaneh School of art which became a national Iranian movement in painting in the 1950s. It was revolutionary in its ability to approach tradition and at the same time inculcate a sense of freedom from the rigid boundaries of visual clichés. Saqqakhaneh artists strived to create works comprehensible to the contemporary Iranian.

The venue across Niavaran Park on Pasdaran Street, will be home to Moradi’s works till August 25.
