The third edition of “Figures of Speech” group exhibit, curated by artist Shams al-Din Ghazi, is underway at Pardis Mellat Art Gallery.
It is a bigger collection compared to the previous editions. The first round was held last year at the Tehran-based Shokouh Gallery and the second was hosted by Vessal Shirazi Art Gallery in Shiraz in April.
On show are sculptures, paintings and installations created by a group of artists including Mohammad-Javad Moradi, Shahrzad Seyfi-Kar, Ali Shiri and Negar Bani-Hashemi.
Also on display are mixed media paintings by Khaleh Kaniz, a native middle-aged woman from Hormoz Island. She was first encouraged into painting her eventful life story by the well-known Iranian nature artist Ahmad Nadalian.
In some of the presented mixed media works the colorful soil of Hormoz Island, in the Persian Gulf, has been employed.
