Falak-ol-Aflak Castle situated on the top of a large hill in Khorramabad, capital city of Lorestan Province, is to host the first festival of Luri music.

In the festival, slated for August 13-17, 40 performances are planned by ethnic bands and singers from different cities in the country where the Luri dialect is spoken, Mehr News Agency reported.

Lurs of Iran are mainly in provinces of Lorestan, Ilam, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Fars, Khuzestan, Isfahan and Markazi. Composer, singer, songwriter and author Iraj Rahmanpour, celebrated composer and singer Faraj Alipour, and sorna player Ehsan Abdipour are among the participating artists.  Falak-ol-Aflak castle is among the main structures built during the Sassanid era (224–651). Covering an area of 5,300 square meters, the castle, including the hill, reaches 40 meters above the surrounding area.
