Pars Cinema in the city of Kerman has cut ticket prices to help attract bigger audiences.

In response to soaring prices, decline in the value of the rial and the rapidly shrinking purchasing power of the masses, Aban Malek-Mohammadi, the manager of the movie theater in south-central Iran has reduced the prices of tickets by 40%, Mehr News Agency reported.

“In a country where prices of goods and services increase on a daily basis, I prefer to do my share in easing some of the burden on the people’s shoulders. They need a break from the stress to have some fun and relax. That’s why I cut ticket prices until the economic condition returns to normal,” Malek-Mohammadi said.

Elaborating on his move, he said, “So far (July 30), tickets were being sold at 100,000 rials (one dollar). From now on, the tickets will cost 60,000 rials -- a 40% discount.”

The discount will be for 45 days. It will be extended further if the economic conditions continue to go south,” the cinema manager said.

He said he has considered a 25% discount in the price of “Honar-o-Tajrobe” (Art & Experience) a monthly journal offered at Pars Cinema.

Pars Cinema is located on Jomhouri Blvd off Farhangian Junction.
