Vahdat Hall in Tehran on August 8 will hold a concert of tar players from Iran and Azerbaijan.
Two musicians from Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan will perform a selection of their compositions, PANA reported on its Persian website.
Iranian composer, player and instructor of tar and setar Salar Zamanian will join composer and player of tar and oud Shahriyar Imanov from Azerbaijan to perform a tar duet with a group of instrumentalists.
“For the concert, some of my compositions and a selection of Shahriyar Imanov’s pieces are to be performed, along with some famous Azeri compositions,” Zamanian said.
“Imanov is a young, proficient artist with worldwide reputation. His technique and speed are amazing, while his performance is full of emotions.” he added.
Other musicians who will play along the two masters are Behnam Abolqasem on the piano, Tina Jamegarmi and Nima Zahedi on violin, Dariush Hejazi on viola and cellist Atena Eshtiaqi.
“We intend to take the concert on a tour across Iran. So far, we agreed on a performance in Tabriz and are deciding schedules for other cities,” Zamanian said.
Tickets to the concert are available at Iranconcert.com. Vahdat Hall is located on Shahryar Blvd., Hafez Street, south of Enqelab Avenue.
