An exhibition of photos taken by Arman Golestaneh opened at Golestan Art Gallery on July 20.

To continue through July 25, it has on show 17 photos. Most of the works feature single trees; one growing on a remote rock, one in the ground covered with snow.

What most pictures have in common is the sky in the background, which is so beautifully compatible with the foreground image that is among the first thing to catch the attention of the viewer.

Golestaneh’s works focus largely on photographing landscapes and the night sky.

According to the gallery website, about 10 of Golestaneh’s works have been published at The World At Night, a website that presents stunning nightscape photos and time lapse videos of the world’s most beautiful and historic sites against a nighttime backdrop of moon and stars.

His works have also been included in the book “A Little Course in Astronomy” written by Robert Dinwiddie, a specialist in writing and contributing to educational books on Earth and ocean science, astrophysics and cosmology, and the history of science.

The gallery is located at No. 34, Kasmaei Street, Darrous neighborhood.
