A group painting exhibition on the theme of imaginary friends opened on Friday at Farda Art Gallery in Tehran and will run until July 19.
“My Imaginary Friend” features more than 200 paintings and illustrations of fantasy creatures, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.
More than 90 visual artists including director and illustrator Sanaz Moqadam, animator Alireza Owji, painter and graphic designer Sara Aatash-Hoosh and painter Amir-Reza Samavati have displayed their creations.
The event is a follow up to a previous show in February of the same name and same subject that was well received by public.
Imaginary friends are a natural part of healthy child development. Children use their fantasy friends to practice verbal skills, boost their confidence and for role play.
People can be, and normally are, among imaginary friends. But they can also include other characters such as animals or abstract ideas such as ghosts or angels.
The venue is located at Unit 2, No. 2, 6th Arabi Alley, Hosseini St., Karimkhan Ave.
