A selection of 75 children’s movies was announced by movie critics in the British daily, Telegraph, to represent the best of this genre.
Both films and animations exist in the list. The interesting point is that the list includes a variety of movies and animations ranging from classic to the more recent releases.
Made in 1931, ‘Emil and the Detectives’ is the oldest film in the list which was an adaptation of Erich K?stner’s classic children’s novel.
Walt Disney’s first animation ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’ in 1937 is still one of the best in spite of all the advancements in the filmmaking industry.
The selected movies are all popular among film fans across the globe as they were warmly received by the public at their release.
In the long list the following names bring back good memories of the far and near past: The Wizard of Oz (1939), Dumbo (1941), Peter Pan (1953), 101 Dalmatians (1961), Mary Poppins (1964), The Jungle Book (1967), ET (1982), The Little Mermaid (1989), Home Alone (1990), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), Jumanji (1995), Toy Story (1995), Monsters Inc.
