Laleh Gallery in Tehran is going to show paintings by a group of artists from Shiraz. Over 40 paintings by 28 young artists will be put on display on Friday. Titled “Spring of Shiraz”, the exhibition will run through July 24, according to the Persian website Onlineartgallery.ir. The paintings have been selected by painter, miniaturist and print artist Homayoun Salimi; and art researcher, contemporary painter and sculptor Reza Khodadadi who are faculty members of Tehran University of Art, as well as painter, art researcher, critic and theoretician Ali-Akbar Jahangard from the Shiraz branch of Azad University. The participating painters do not follow any specific style or school of art. The 28 artists represent a new generation of painters in Shiraz and have a diverse range of works. They include Hanieh Hejazifar, Mahtab Rezaee, Ali Shiri, Parisa Ranjbar, Mahsa Fallahian, Marzieh Kazerouni, Shahrzad Moin and Parichehr Nezami among others. Some of the participating artists will be present at the opening ceremony on Friday afternoon. Laleh Gallery is located on Fatemi Street, northern flank of Laleh Park, next to Laleh Hotel.
