Iranian Artists Forum will screen six Italian films and hold workshops in the realm of cinema, July 1-6.

Italian Cinema Week will open Sunday with a ceremony attended by the Italian Ambassador Mauro Conciatori and IAF chief Majid Rajabi-Memar, ISNA reported on its Persian website.

The films will be screened in the original language with Persian and English subtitles.

Feature films include Giovanna’s Father directed by Pupi Avati  (2008), The Demons of St. Petersburg by Giuliano Montaldo (2007), A Second Childhood by Pupi Avati (2010), The Feast by Mimmo Calopresti (2007), Italy in a Day by Oscar winner director Gabriele Salvatores (2014) and The Arrival of Wang by Antonio and Marco Manetti (2011).

On the sideline of the screenings two workshops are planned: the first on July 4 on costume and set design and the second on July 6 on special effects and post-production.

Entry for the film screenings and workshops is free for the public. The IAF is located at Honarmandan (Artists) Park, Iranshahr St., Taleqani St.

“The event is part of Italy’s cultural project ‘Italy, Cultures, the Mediterranean’ to promote its art and culture in the Middle East, North African and the Persian Gulf region,” the Italian ambassador told a press briefing on Wednesday.

Tehran hosted the first round of cultural events organized by the Italian Embassy in January. The program included several music and theater performances as well as a seminar on Italian contemporary theater.
