As a part of Iran cultural week in Azerbaijan, Iran’s National Orchestra, conducted by veteran composer Fereydoun Shahbazian, 74, will stage two concerts in the neighboring country.
The two events are set for June 27 in the capital Baku, and June 29 in the city of Ganja, Honaronline reported on its Persian website.
Traditional singer Salar Aghili will sing 10 songs for the audience, among which is “Ayrılıq”, an Azeri folk song with lyrics by Farhad Ibrahimi and music composed by Azerbaijani musician, composer and tar player Ali Salimi in 1957.
The song is about separation and love and is one of the most familiar Azeri songs throughout the world.
