The 400-year-old walls of the gallery of Safavi House in Isfahan Province are displaying works of Persian calligraphy and page illuminations created by a group of artists. Open to the public till June 27, the exhibit is displaying works of 40 artists including Asieh Azar-Afza, Seyyed Rasoul Aqa-Miri, Mohammad-Mehdi Ebrahimi, Farzaneh Jafari, Siavash Hojbi, Shahnaz Maleki and Ali Farzaneh, Honaronline reported the event curator Amir Jalali as saying. Located at Khaqani Street, Safavi House is a beautiful historical mansion, the construction of which dates back to the Safavid Dynasty (1501-1736). Isfahan was the capital of the dynasty for 138 years (1598-1736). Beside the gallery, the house has also dedicated space to a bookstore, a handicraft shop and a café.
