Lurish Concert in Vahdat Hall July 19

Veteran folk singer Kourosh Asadpour, accompanied by Gahar music ensemble, will perform a concert of Lurish music (ethnic music of western and southwestern regions in Iran). The Tehran event is slated for July 18 at the iconic Vahdat Hall, ILNA reported on its Persian website. Asadpour and Gahar ensemble will perform old and new Lurish folk songs from Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province. Gahar music ensemble is led by Mohsen Keyhannejad who will be playing sorna. Band members include Mehran Torkzaban on kamancheh, Arash Hashemi on tar, Maziar Faraji on oud, Hossein Bahrami on ney, Babak Shekari on tonbak, Kamal Shohani on santur, while Milad Daval will play daf. Vahdat Hall is located on Shahryar Blvd., Hafez Street, south of Enqelab Avenue.
