In his latest show, graphic artist, illustrator and painter Saeed Khazaee has depicted the “Seven Tasks of Rostam,” a series of extraordinary acts carried out by Rostam, the greatest of heroes in Shahnameh, the epic “Book of Kings”, written in verse by Persian poet Ferdowsi (940-1020).
The exhibit opened June 8 at Seyhoun Art Gallery and will run through June 20, according to Gallery Info. It is the third solo show by Khazaee in which he has presented seven large paintings reminiscent of Saqqakhaneh School which dominated Iranian modernism in the late 20th century.
His paintings depict a world beyond any specific time and geography inhabited by prototypic denizens.
